God's House, Pressing On

Handbook 4: Article 28 - Part 3: An Appointed Time, an Appointed Work: Restoring God's House!

"Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity..."

Hebrews 6:1

"...stand and speak to the people in the temple all the words of this Life."

Acts 5:20

"Listen, O My people, to My instruction..."

Psalm 78:1

"When He ascended on high,
He led captive a host of captives,
And He gave gifts to men...

...for the equipping of the true believers for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the true knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Ephesians 4:8, 12, 13

Consider:

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show to His bondservants, the things which must shortly take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John...

John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before the throne; and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first born of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."

Revelation 1:1, 4-6

A Closer Look at the Design of the House

"...and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father... And coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected by men, but chosen and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."

1 Peter 2:4, 5

A Closer Look at the Living Stones

"I urge you there, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, well-pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship... transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Romans 12:1, 2

"The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken,
And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting,
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God has shone forth.
May our God come and not keep silence;
Fire devours before Him,
And it is very tempestuous around Him.
He summons the heaven above,
And the earth; to judge His people:
'Gather My godly ones to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.'"

Psalm 50:1-5

"...(making full the word of God), that is the mystery which has been hidden from ages and generations... which is, Christ in you, the hope of glory..."

Colossians 1:25-27

Again:

"Therefore leaving the beginning word about the Christ, let us press on to perfection...

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name...

For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself... Therefore God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, in order that two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have strong encouragement, we who have fled for refuge in laying hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast and one which enters inside the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."

Hebrews 6:1, 10, 13, 17-20

John again:

"And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to open the book and break its seals?' And I saw... a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. And He came and took it out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the true believers (Lit. holy ones). And they sang a new song, saying,

'Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou was slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
And Thou hast made them a kingdom and priests to our God; and they shall reign upon the earth.'"

Revelation 5:1-10
