Knowing Jesus as the Word of God: Two Personal Encounters!

Handbook 5: Article 41 - Making Full the Word of God

"By His doing, you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, both righteousness and sanctification, and redemption."

1 Corinthians 1:30

Knowing Jesus, the Word of God, as Our Sanctification

"For the Word of God is living and active and sharper that any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do."

Hebrews 4:12, 13

"Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]."

Revelation 3:19 Amplified Bible

"...you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of God."

1 Corinthians 6:11

"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

1 Thessalonians 5:23

Knowing Jesus, the Word of God, as Our Redemption

"He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were begotten not of blood, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us... For by His fullness we all received, and grace upon grace."

John 1:10-14, 16

"It is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life."

John 6:63

"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace... and those who are in the flesh cannot please God, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God... However you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."

Romans 8:6-9, 14

To ponder:

"And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent."

John 17:3
