The Revelation Revisited

Handbook 4: Article 9 - Part 2: Appointed Times, Appointed Work in the Midst of the Years

What is a revelation?

Only God can fully know God, and only God can make Himself known.

"Revelation is a process whereby God makes Himself known to men. It is the revealing of something previously hidden, something that is unknown until the moment of enlightenment when it bursts forth from the Spirit of God into the spirit of a chosen person or persons. It is a self-disclosure of God, a deep knowledge of His person, His purpose, His ways or plans made known by the Holy Spirit."

Harper's Bible Dictionary

The Revelation, Handbook 2:

"I will revive My work in the midst of the years; in the midst of the years I will make Myself known."

Habakkuk 3:2

The Revelation Multiplied

He is aroused and risen from His holy habitation. He is coming and will dwell in our midst.

He is restoring things to His Divine Original -- His will and purpose in creation.

He is making a correction by establishing a plumb-line, a measurement.

He is summing up all things in Christ Jesus.

His Divine Original

1. Men will rule over every living thing that moves on the earth.
2. Men shall bear the heavenly image of God's Son, Jesus Christ.
3. God's people will be a kingdom of priests, a people for God's own possession.
4. Not one from the book of the Lord will be missing, none shall lack its mate.
5. The people of God will be willing in the day of His power.

Appointed Times Announced in The Revelation

"There is an appointed time for everything... a time for every event under heaven."

Ecclesiastes 3

"...now is the time for judgment..."
"...for a brief moment..."
"...the time of visitation..."
"...it is a little while..."
"...an administration of the fullness of times..."

There Are Appointed Workmen

"Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations...' Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and said to me, 'Behold I have put My words in your mouth...

everywhere I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak...'"

Jeremiah 1:7

"See I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant."

Jeremiah1:4-10

There Are Appointed Journeys

"Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers... And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them.' Then when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they send them away.

So being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went..."
