A vital question!
"Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me..."
John 14:9
It was Paul's intense desire to know Him, "to progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, recognizing and understanding the wonders of His person more strongly and more clearly."
A Personal Word from a Fellow Traveler
"I've been reading the Gospels for the past few months. Jesus has been using the Gospel of John to help me to know Him. I think you and I have talked about knowing 'of' or 'about' Jesus, but not knowing Him personally. By God's amazing grace, Jesus has recently changed that.
My first experience was in the hospital when Jesus revealed to me His majesty in my mind or spirit. And now in the past couple of weeks, Jesus has been talking to me and revealing Himself to me through my Bible reading and through the Holy Spirit.
The understanding has been similar to experiencing the difference between 'believing' and 'knowing' that God's Word is true when you hear it. Jesus, in His grace and lovingkindness, has revealed Himself to me in the same way!"
"And we have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God."
John 6:69
